colors

Colors are another fun way of analyzing fictional characters. I like doing this especially when a character has an official profile with "favorite colors" defined, because it's an easier way to identify what a character is like. In Mukuro's case, his favorites are Purple and Black, but because I like red, and red is the color of his eye, Red is thrown into my color analysis mix. I used this for several of my other sites already: Color wheel pro.

PURPLE: purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.
DARK PURPLE: evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings.

I, myself have always associated purple with royalty. Purple and red, to be exact. But for Mukuro, purple does not equal royalty. His character is far from nobility and luxury; he is no prince charming. In Mukuro's case, purple is to better describe his mysterious presence, his power, ambition, and .. magic too, I guess. It's more of a mystique property than royal to him.

BLACK: black is a mysterious color associated with fear and the unknown (black holes). It usually has a negative connotation (blacklist, black humor, 'black death'). Black denotes strength and authority; it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color (black tie, black Mercedes). In heraldry, black is the symbol of grief. Black is associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery.

Since when did any evil character not have black as a dominant color in their surroundings? Like the description - black is always associated with the unknown, mystery, and evil. For one thing, I don't believe that Mukuro is entirely an evil character, but he is part of what's "unknown" in the series - there are still lots of secrets that he may have that have not been revealed. There are two similar traits that settle with black and purple: Power and mystery. They compliment eachother rather nicely!

DARK RED: is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath.

There's only one kind of red that can really be associated with Mukuro, and that's a dark, bloody red. All the traits listed above under 'dark red' are some of the same feelings that Mukuro shows throughout the series - especially willpower. This is also a color of leadership, since it's still in a reddish hue. Reason being I picked red is because I think that his right eye and it's color are extremely important, as much as they don't really stand out. That eye has to be something more than just looking cool.
