katekyo hitman reborn! (spoiler-free)

KATEKYOUSHI HITMAN REBORN! (Home Tutor Reborn!) is a shonen anime/manga series by manga-ka Akira Amano, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. This series in ongoing. Shying away from technical information, this series is about a boy named Sawada Tsunayoshi -- who is seemingly a loser at just about everything and has no real merit of becoming anything in life -- that is until he meets Reborn. Reborn may look like a baby, but he's actually a home tutor for upcoming mafia bosses. It's certain shock when Tsuna learns that he is to become the boss of the strongest underground mafia family, The Vongola. In a strange sort of events - Tsuna befriends Gokudera Hayato "Smokin' Bomb Hayato" and Yamamoto Takeshi, however as far as the mafia is concerned, these two comprise of his ever-growing Vongola family. And that's the gist of it. (If I were to ramble any more about this series, I'd be unconciously giving out spoilers in the wrong section)

What makes this series so lovable to fans and myself, I think, is the wonderful art of Akira Amano. The story itself is great, too, because it's a light-hearted shonen series with lots of colorful characters (It's hard to see stereotypes in this series!) and dare I say it -- explosions! The series is more humorous than anything, I think! It might be a long, hard road to follow for KHR, but for anyone who enjoys battles of insanity, crazy humor, and Italian mafias? It'll be a fun ride. I promise.
